Football-themed fun for all
Budding Harry Kane’s were able to show off their ball skills on a pop-up pitch and enjoy live games on a big screen over the weekend when Clarendon Square Shopping Centre’s ‘Hyde Cup’ event kicked off the celebrations for the football tournament, which has sent the world crazy.
Sports fans from across town enjoyed a host of activities on the mall at Clarendon Square, where young visitors had the opportunity to practice and learn new tricks, as well as take part in games and arts and crafts. There was also a comfy area with grass-covered seating to relax and watch the games.
Paula Wood, centre manager at Clarendon Square, said the weekend had been a wonderful success, with event-goers revelling in the atmosphere and fun. “Football reigns supreme in the town and I’m so happy at how well received Hyde Cup has been,” said Paula. “There were many talented boys and girls having a good kick about and it was great to see the enthusiasm they all showed. It was also lovely to see families spending quality time together while getting stuck into the games and crafts.
Sunday made for a fantastic family outing for Father’s Day, with children making trophies for the special man in their lives, with the PlayStation football tournament also proving to be a huge hit with visitors.
Paula concluded: “Thank you to all who came to Hyde Cup, you’re all champions for making the weekend such fun.”
