Clarendon Square Shopping Centre’s competition to celebrate community members

Locals are being encouraged to get their nominations in for the Clarendon Square Shopping competition, ‘Hyde Hero’, which will recognise people in the town who make a difference to the lives of those around them.

Over the last couple of weeks, people from across Hyde have been sharing stories with the shopping centre about family members, friends, colleagues, business owners and more, who show great kindness and generosity towards others.

Nominations for the competition close this Thursday, 24 May, and following the public vote which opens next month on the Tameside Reporter Facebook page, one person will be crowned ‘Hyde Hero’ and will receive a Google Home device and Kindle.

“The idea behind Hyde Hero is to take a moment to acknowledge that wonderful someone who makes each day that bit better,” said Paula Wood, centre manager at Clarendon Square. “There have been some fantastic entries so far and it’s going to be quite a task putting a shortlist together.

“Thank you to everyone who has been in touch let us know who deserves to be recognised for their brilliance. There’s still time to get involved, so don’t miss this opportunity to put someone forward to scoop the fantastic title of Hyde Hero and win some top gadgets. We look forward to hearing about even more inspiring nominees.”

To enter your ‘Hyde Hero’ into the competition, simply send their full name and the reason why they deserve to win to [email protected] no later than Thursday, 24 May. Voting opens for two weeks next month, with the winner to be announced shortly afterwards.
