Clarendon Square’s very good friend, Mrs Claus, has heard that the boys and girls of Hyde have been very good this year and, as a special sweet treat, she’ll be heading to the shopping centre for cookie-making workshops!
Clarendon Square is ‘raisin’ the bar’ and really whipping up the excitement this Christmas by inviting children and their families to the shopping centre on Saturday 7 and Sunday 8 December to roll up their sleeves to decorate freshly made, yummy cookies. ‘Dough’ not miss this!
Mrs Claus will be arriving in town following a 2232-mile sleigh ride from Lapland and will be donning her pinny from 11am until 3pm on both days. She will be bringing lots of tasty toppings for little ones to make their cookies even more delicious.
After personalising their biscuit with chocolate, sweets and icing, event-goers will also be able to design a Christmas plate to take home and leave a mince pie and carrot on it for when Santa, Rudolph and the other reindeers stop by on 24 December. There will also be a chance to write a letter to Santa and send it to him using the centre’s special postbox.
Sophie Stephenson, centre manager at Clarendon Square Shopping Centre, said: “We wanted to do something a little different this Christmas and thought it would be lovely for Mrs Claus to meet the people of Hyde while the hustle and bustle of Santa getting all the presents together and ironing his suit is going on.
“It’s going to be a really magical experience for kids to meet her and share what they’ve been up to,” said Sophie. “There will be lots of fun to be had decorating their cookies together and I’m sure it will be a memory that everyone will have for many Christmases to come.
“We hope our visitors have a wonderful time with us and Mrs Claus and we look forward to seeing all the festive designs. Bring on the bakes!”
